Catharus minimus

The Gray-Cheeked Thrush is perhaps the most elusive of the already shy brown thrushes.
Of all the spotted thrushes of North America it has the most northern breeding range of boreal forest, tundra scrub as well as north of the tree line.
Its song has similarities to the Veery only higher and sounding more nasal.
As with brown thrushes it also forages mainly on the ground for insects and feeds on berries
It is not listed as threatened as its breeding areas are remote, although the population is declining in its southern most range.
