Louisiana Waterthrush Seiurus motacilla
Louisiana Waterthrush
Seiurus motacilla

The Louisiana Waterthrush is very similar to the Northern Waterthrush, in appearance, tail bobbing behavior, and feeding behavior, although it prefers fast moving streams with gravel bottoms and deciduous woodlands.
Similar in foraging techniques to the Northern Waterthrush, it also catches insects as it flies across streams.
Nesting in stream banks and rocky ravine hollows it will produce one brood per year.
