Yellow-Rumped Warbler  Dendroica coronata
Yellow-Rumped Warbler
Dendroica coronata

Also referred to as Myrtle Warbler in the east, it prefers coniferous habitat or mixed forests.  It is perhaps one of the most abundant and heartier of the warblers as it will feed on more variable diet of bayberries, juniper, wax myrtle, and poison ivy.  I’ve witnessed this bird feeding from my suet feeder in the dead of a northern Ohio February.
